magic of mamta...

Patiala, Punjab
Being a Fauji daughter, studied all over India. But, stint at Kendriya Vidyalaya, Jalahalli West, Bangalore was most memorable experience
Delhi University
My first stint as news anchor on All India Radio Shillong when I was 15
My Mother - from whom I learned to interact and understand people.
My Father - from whom I gained strength and inspiration
My first show as a Radio Jockey in 1999 on EBC Radio – life was never the same again
Ganeshji – My Friend and Guide. I talk to Him about everything in my life and derive comfort from the knowledge that He is always by my side
Those who are direct and do not take themselves too seriously
My friends can answer this question best, but I have to say that its because I understand what makes a person tick and I never take anyone or anything for granted
At the radio station hosting my drive-time radio show
There are many great moments. On one show, the topic was Harivanshrai Bachchan and half way into the show a listener called and informed us that Harivanshrai had passed away. Other moments are funny conversations and banter with listeners - some of who are colorful personalities.
The spontaneity of doing a live show. The interactions with the listeners. In the midst of the ten tracks that dominate my life at any point in time, the studio and the microphone are my relief valve
Movies and everything and everyone to do with Bollywood inspires and excites me. I love meeting and interacting with the stars and finding out what makes them tick
Dil to Pagal Hai, Shakti
The list of stars that I like is a long one. I am in awe of Mr. Bachchan (who isn't?). But, my all time favorite and the one who makes my heart go dhak dhak is the King of all the Khans – Shahrukh Khan
My daughter, who is wise beyond her age. She keeps me honest and is quite simply the light of my life.
Mamta Jisko Kuch Nahin Hai Jamta – pretty much sums up who I am – constantly seeking new things and experiences in life
I rarely get to relax as I am chasing ten tracks at the same time. But, when I do need to relax, I find it at home, in bed watching a movie or spending time with my daughter
Never take anything for granted, because nothing is permanent
Be straight forward, honest and to the point
Life is too short – keep it simple and make the most of everything it has to offer
Live in the Moment – allows me to keep my multi-faceted life on track – most of the times
Never expect too much from people, and you will never be disappointed
Growth has to be constant. Without it, we will wither away.
